ADHD-Focused Counseling

Do you have a task (even something you love) that you have set such high standards for, that you procrastinate to complete it?

Perhaps you have a hard time focusing for long periods of time (phone break anyone?) or have difficulty prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

This is a small dose of what having ADHD/ADHD tendencies can look like. While ADHD is not curable, it is manageable.

What does ADHD-Focused Counseling look like?

When working with clients who have ADHD, skills training is the main thing we work on. We discuss past instances of a behavior, what worked and didn’t work, and collaborate to find the best way to work with your brain.

We tend to use techniques such as mindfulness, CBT, talk therapy, or perhaps there’s a bigger picture contributing to these tendencies that we will explore.

ADHD Book Recommendation

Oftentimes clients with ADHD struggle with motivation and holding themselves accountable. “You can give me all the tools, but I still can’t bring myself to do it”. While rewiring your brain takes time, I believe this book is a great starting point. Even just one. page. at. a. time.

ADHD vs Autism

If you are diagnosed or simply have any of the tendencies associated with these disorders (like myself), I gift you, a graphic:
