Individual Counseling

What does Individual Counseling look like?

Your session depends entirely on your concern and what techniques may or may not work for you. As an eclectic counselor, I collaborate with my clients and use an integrative approach of CBT, DBT, solution-focused, and narrative therapy.

“I’ve never been to counseling before”

Being vulnerable with a stranger is no easy task, so I applaud you for taking this first step.

I strive to make every client feel as comfortable as possible. During our consultation and first session, I get a sense of your comfort level and am careful to not overstep. I appreciate a client’s honesty, and will often ask how you're feeling about the sessions so far or if a sensitive question is okay to ask.

“I had a bad experience last time I went to counseling”

If you had a poor counselor previously, I recommend you read the previous question/answer.

This is a topic I ask during our consultation call so I can learn what you liked and disliked about your previous counseling experience and thus give you the experience you deserve.
